The Organizing Committee of the OLC 2011 is pleased to invite you to Yerevan for the 14th International Topical Meeting on Optics of Liquid Crystals. OLC 2011 will be organized by the Yerevan State University in cooperation with the Institute of Applied Problems in Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia and State Committee of Science of Armenia.
The Conference will take place at the Armenia Marriott Hotel in Yerevan, most comfortably and pleasantly situated in the business and entertainment heart of this one of the most ancient cities of the world, surrounded by parks, fountains, art galleries, boutique stores, small open-air cafes, and restaurants.
Climate: The Autumn is the best season in Armenia. Yerevan is usually sunny during September with the mean temperature 18°C- 22°C (http://www.armeniainfo.com).
Banking: The Armenian banking system consists of 21 commercial banks, which are supervised by the Central Bank of Armenia. The banks in Yerevan are open from 10 am to 4 pm on week-days and from 10 am to 1 pm on Saturdays. No lunch breaks! The ATMs can be found on all the major streets.
Currency: Armenian national currency is the Dram. There are banknotes of 500, 1000, 5000, 20000, 50000 Dram denomination. There are also coins of 10, 50, 100, 200, 500 Dram denomination. Foreign currency can be exchanged in banks and currency exchange offices throughout the country.
